Amanda Weiss writes about East Asian film studies and cultural studies. She is currently a 2016-2017 Postdoctoral Fellow at Emory University's Bill and Carol Fox Center for Humanistic Inquiry, where she is completing a book on Chinese and Japanese war cinema.


Prior to her research at Emory, Amanda worked in Beijing and Tokyo as a filmmaker and film researcher. She has studied at the University of Southern California, the Beijing Film Academy, the University of Cambridge, and the University of Tokyo.
